On 15-16 June 2022 (AEST) Freedom for humanity is running an online summit on modern slavery.
The Summit which will be held online has a great line up of international sponsors, speakers, and panel sessions with experts in the fields of intervention, rescue, rehabilitation, and prevention of Modern Slavery.
As well as providing much-needed education for corporates, funds raised from the event will go towards a new scholarship for survivors of modern slavery.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.
Terri Bell, principal of TLB Law & Co said,
“The event has been created to provide corporations and organisations with education and information on modern slavery. At AU$97 tickets are extremely affordable. You would normally expect to pay thousands of dollars to attend an event with a line-up of speakers of this calibre.
The event is open to Australians as well as anyone overseas and if you’re a reporting entity in Australia or organisation I recommend you or your staff attend.
Modern Slavery legislation is being introduced progressively around the World. In Australia, the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) requires reporting entities to report each year on modern slavery, and as part of that, they need to demonstrate what they have done to mitigate the risk. Educating staff plays a key role in this.
With the new labour government now in power, it is quite likely legislation in Australia will be strengthened by introducing penalties to the Act so now more than ever companies and organisations need to understand what this means to them.”
Anyone wishing to get involved can assist by attending, sponsoring, or sharing the event on social media. Contact Freedom for Humanity directly via their website.
